Running is therapy

I am still running, slow as it is.  I managed to get in five miles on Friday evening.  It was considerably cooler than it has been so I enjoyed that.  I also enjoyed the solitude.  The hubby was out night fishing, so I didn't get started until about 8 pm.  I could hear the local high school band playing at the football game, and then enjoyed a little of the live music at a local restaurant across the road from where I ran.

It was really dark when I was finishing up.  And when it is dark, and the cars are driving by, you can't see the sidewalk!  I am glad there are guard rails between me and the road, but it was still a little intimidating.  I was just happy to be out there.  Not sure how much I'll get to run the next three weeks, since I will be in Scotland meeting my new grandson.  They have a great park really close so I am hoping to continue with my training.  I may just have a little 2 year old wanting to run with me :)

  1. We live super close to a high school...I love when the band is practicing! They usually start outdoor practices in August. Fall is definitely my favorite time of year. We just got back from visiting our son in Seattle. One word aptly describes that city when running: HILLS! They are steep. It is a good workout, though. And then we did a five-day road trip through Oregon. I didn't get out there as much as I would have liked, but that's okay, we all need a break sometime! Have a wonderful time with your kids and grandkids! Our third grandchild is arriving in 12 weeks. So excited!!
