Not an attractive pic by no means, just keeping it real.

I normally do 2 minutes of running with 30 seconds of walking and my slow pace is about a 13 minute mile. This seems to work well for my training. I do better in races and I keep myself from injuries. I couldn't even keep up that. I ended up with a very, very slow 1.5 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking after about mile 3. The humidity was horrendous, but I was very thankful for the occasional breeze and cloud cover. I guess running in the house for three weeks has gotten me soft.
That humidity is a killer. I usually get up and run between 5 and 6 a.m. before work, and all week it's been 100% humidity with a high dew point. Today was glorious...only 55% humidity!! It's coming back next week, though. Boo. IMO, the only thing worse than running in high humidity is running in high humidity on a track! Good for you for getting out there!
ReplyDeleteYou are a morning person, then! I get up at 4:30 to go to work 2-3 days a week (10 hour days), but I would never do that to run! I have run several times at 9 pm when I don't have to get up so early the next morning.
