I met a runner/quilter friend this morning for our long run. Six miles! We did it. We are both registered for a local Thanksgiving day 10K. I think we are ready. It was a very nice comfortable run.
Have been searching forever for a blogger who has begun running at a more 'mature' age. Im 54 myself. I started c25k on january 1st this year and had work up to 5miles, about a 10 min/mile pace. Unfortunately, i have a herniated disc in my back and have had to stop running until i can get my back in shape. Just walking 5k a day so i dont lose too much fitness, but my pace is about an 18 minute mile. I had lost about 40 pounds in 2012 and wanted to run to get in shape and maintain the loss. Unfortunately, am now 13 pounds over goal. The weather here in fl is finally starting to cool off a bit...in the 60s at night but suppose to go up to 82 today. You have a new follower...hopefully ill be pounding the avement again soon. Until then, its walking for me.

Yay Catherine! Glad you found me. We will encourage each other. Take care of your back so you can soon be back to running!......Rachel
